Strengthening Voices, Shaping Country
First Nations Impact Advisory (FNIA) is an Indigenous-led firm that bridges the gap between industry, First Nations People and government. Our mission is to strengthen Country outcomes by achieving the best outcome for Indigenous communities and proponents. Led by Tanya Sewter, Lardil woman of Mornington Island, and partnership specialist Ross Browning, we combine deep cultural authority with technical rigour to support On Country strategic planning and negotiation, as well as guiding industry and government partners toward respectful, effective engagement.
Our advisory services
We guide industry and government partners toward respectful, culturally grounded engagement that delivers real outcomes for communities. We also support Traditional Owner groups with strategic planning, governance strengthening, and negotiation readiness.
Strategic planning
We help Traditional Owner groups develop clear priorities and governance structures that reflect cultural values. We also assist Government and Industry integrate First Nations priorities in their strategic planning processes.
Community engagement
We facilitate genuine partnerships between industry, First Nations communities and government based on respect and trust. Our approach centres community voices and ensures engagement follows proper cultural protocols.
Economic development
We focus on optimising outcomes for non-Indigenous and First Nations Groups to ensure mutually respectful and agreed outcomes. From post mining land use to employment strategies, we identify sustainable economic opportunities that align with community aspirations and plans.
Cultural competency
We partner with organisations and communities to help people develop real cultural understanding. Our training builds genuine awareness and skills for staff, and we work closely with community partners to make sure what we teach actually reflects local knowledge and what matters on the ground. We focus on wellbeing, trauma awareness, and building on people's strengths, so the end result is practical, meaningful, and actually useful for the community.
